First we would get married and I’d take her to a Roman Holiday for the honeymoon. It would be only the two of us; two for the road. We would buy green mansions and an apartment in New York. Green mansions because it’s there where I would love to admire her funny face and make love in the afternoon. And sometimes I would just wait until dark. New York because we would be both crazy about it and we would love to have breakfast at tiffany’s together everyday.We would adopt 3 children and named them Sabrina, Robin and Marian. Audrey and I would tell a lot of stories to our children such as the nun’s story, the unforgiven andof course the origin of our bloodline. Eventually it will come a time when the children’s hour would come and we would’ve had to let them go. But before I would teach them How to steal a million ‘cause they must have enough money to see Paris when it sizzles. Audrey would not like this idea because, oh well, she’s my fair lady. But I would explain later this charade to her. And I would love her… Always. I told this story to my friends and they all laughed. I hope you like it too.

I looked at my watch and turned on the radio. The music came pouring out and I sat there absorbing what sounded like hundred pieces playing the Axel Stordahl arrangement, swelling, softening, opening a path for Frank Sinatra’s voice to come through singing… I dropped my do-it-yourself record on the floor, listening, appreciating the professionalism, the way all that music served as no more than a frame for his voice, a frame he didn’t seem to even notice was there. He sang free, unencumbered, as easy as if he were in the shower, yet all the elements fit and came together in a big-time sound that gave me chills.
